Welcome to Third Party Recovery Services’ New Blog

E&S Blocks

Hello! Welcome to Third Party Recovery Services’ new bimonthly blog where we discuss current issues regarding insurance, health and safety, and subrogation.

For the past two decades, our firm has been an industry leader in the fields of subrogation and reimbursement, providing our services and expertise to Federal Employees Health Benefit (FEHB) plans.  Congress passed the FEHB Act on September 28, 1959 and the program was successfully launched on January 1 of the following year.  We are proud that our subrogation services have been around for nearly a third of the FEHB Program’s history.

Under FEHBA, OPM contracts with insurance carriers to provide coverage to qualified federal workers and their dependents.  Roughly four million federal and postal employees and annuitants are covered underneath the FEHB umbrella and another four million are covered as family members.

The Plans that we represent provide coverage to members of all ages and from all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and around the globe.   Occupations are as varied as mail carrier, archeologist, law enforcement officer and Foreign Service officer.  Despite the vast differences in the FEHB population, plan members face many of the same issues when it comes to illnesses and injuries for which other parties are responsible.  We decided to share insights about what we do through this blog, and we hope that it can be a resource to interested readers.

You can learn more about the FEHB Program at OPM’s website opm.gov/insure and more about our firm’s FEHBlog thefehblog.blogspot.com.
